COOL OFF WITH A GREEN TEA
FRUIT TWIST SMOOTHIE
by Lillian Africano
During the hot, muggy days of summer, why not skip the cola drinks and treat yourself instead to a Green Tea Fruit Twist Smoothie? It s refreshing, easy to make, and a good way to enjoy the anti-oxidant properties of green tea while cooling off.
The popularity of green tea continues to grow, due in large part to the health benefits associated with it. Green tea is a rich, natural source of antioxidants that may play a role in cancer prevention, heart attack survival and bone health.
Salada Green Tea offers green tea flavors like mandarin orange, apple & spice, and Echinacea blends in honey and lemon or mint flavors, as well as decaffeinated versions all of which can be used in the following recipe:
Green Tea Fruit Twist Smoothie
(Serves two)
- 1 cup Salada Green tea (any flavor), chilled
- 2 cups strawberries, sliced (or any fruit you desire)
- 2 pineapple rings (or any fruit you desire)
- 1 banana
- 1 Tablespoon honey
- Ice cubes as needed
Directions: In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.
