Millions of New York City tourists will visit Olafur Eliasson's Waterfalls exhibit, which runs until October. All two- and three-hour Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises tours will sail close to each of the four man-made waterfalls but very few will have the experience wrapped in an over-the-top $50,000 luxury package.
The package includes:
- Champagne: Dom Perignon and Karl Lagerfeld's vintage 1998 "A Bottle Named Desire."
- Chocolate: Knipschildt's La Madeline au Truffe, recognized by Forbes Magazine as the most expensive chocolate in the world.
- Diamonds: Tiffany Jazz Drop Earrings.
- Dinner for Two: Six-course meal from Chef Daniel Boulud's Feast and F tes catering.
- Presidential Suite: A night in one of New York City's most luxurious presidential suites (guest preferences to be discussed at time of booking).
"All of our daily two- to three-hour cruises are already poised to provide unfettered access to the waterfalls, but that wasn't enough," said Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises Vice President and General Manager Andreas Sappok. "We had to do something that would be commensurate with this once-in-a-lifetime "WOW" experience. Our $50,000 private cruise offers more than a look at four waterfalls it provides gold-plated front row seats to an iconic piece of New York history."
As an alternative to the $50,000 cruise, Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises is offering a $10,000 private cruise package that includes one night in the Presidential Suite at Westin New York Times and dinner for two at Le Bernardin.
And for smaller budgets, Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises are showcasing the falls in a number of ways:
- All 2- and 3-hour cruises: Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises will sail so close to each of the four waterfalls that they'll be stocking ponchos onboard.
- Tour Guide Boot Camp: Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises tour guides have all become experts on the life and times of the Danish artist behind the waterfalls, Olafur Eliasson, via a "Tour Guide Boot Camp." Each guide visited Eliasson's current exhibit, "Take Your Time," at the MoMA, among other activities.
- New Yorkers for New York Cruises: Available at 6 PM on Wednesdays throughout the summer, this cruise is designed just for locals to give them a front row experience to all four waterfalls.
- Music Cruises: Passengers can enjoy the waterfalls on Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises 13th annual Rockin' The River Cruises, which include over 15 distinct and diverse artists who will perform throughout the summer, including Eddie Money, John Hiatt, The Nerds and more.
