Yoga Week, Pilates and Yoga Fore Golf at The Oaks; International Ojai Yoga Crib Transform Town into a Yogi Haven

Yoga/Pilates/TaiChi/Qi Gong Week takes place from Aug. 3- 12 and three to four classes will be offered daily, at no additional charge to guests. Guest fitness instructor Carol Argo will teach Fri. – Sun. Aug 3-5, including classes such as a Water Class that blends Cardio/Yoga/Tai Chi, Deep Hip andBack Release through Yoga and Yoga Dance with invigorating and poetic flow poses. The fundamentals of the four disciplines will be taught throughout the week, including Relaxing Yoga, Yoga for Strength, Pilates Mat and stretch, as well as Tai Chi, which is derived from martial arts and is a popular aid to good health, especially for older adults, and Qi Gong, a Chinese system of physical training, philosophy and preventative and therapeutic health care that combines aerobic conditioning, isometrics, isotonics, meditation and relaxation. One night will include “Glow Gong”- QiGong moves done with glow bracelets on lending an ethereal effect to themotion.
October in Ojai is yogini heaven with more world-renowned yoga instructors gathered in one place than ever imaginable. The Oaks at Ojai provides the perfect base camp for beginner to advanced yogis to learn, reflect and experience various types of yoga, yoga fusion and other Eastern-based movement and philosophies offered during the month.
The Oaks at Ojai offers two to three yoga and Pilates classes each day, including a Pilates-inspired Mat Class designed to strengthen,lengthen and tone the body without the use of exercise machines and yoga classes designed to improve flexibility, strength, and range of motion, and enhance strength,balance and alignment. A relaxing gentle class with stretches and yoga techniques restfully conclude the day.
October 22-27: The Oaks offers “YogaFORE Golf,” a unique opportunity for golfers to get into the swing of yoga…or yogis to get into the swing of golf. The workshop is taught by Joey Corona, a well-respected yoga teacher in Miami at The Doral Spa, as well as a ranked golf pro. As a 12-year yogateacher he has attained E-RYT status, the highest credential of the Yoga Alliance. His students include: Mel Brooks, Anne Bancroft, Alicia Silverstone,Vanessa Williams and Boris Becker. He was the official yoga teacher for the Michael Jordan Celebrity Golf Tournament in the Bahamas and he recently taught at the National Yoga Journal Conference.
October27-30: “International Ojai Yoga Crib” is an annual yoga pilgrimage celebrating its 10th year that features a lineup of teachers offering classes around the town of Ojai. Built on the rich Spiritual Tradition of the Ojai Valley, the yoga sessions, meditations and evening events take place in some of the most historically significant and sacred spots throughout the Valley. An immersion program is offered, as well as a weekend experience.
