SHAKE IT UP DURING “WELLNESS & ZUMBA WEEK” AT BREEZES RUNAWAY BAY IN JAMAICA AUGUST 14-21

Health & Wellness Program to Feature Daily Zumba and Pilates Classes

Plus a Series of “How to Outsmart Mother Nature” Workshops

Zumba has taken the world by storm and now travelers can experience the hottest new fitness trend while vacationing at Breezes Runaway Bay Resort & Spa in Jamaica.

From August 14 – 21, the Super-Inclusive resort is hosting Breezes “Wellness & Zumba Week” where certified instructor Linda A. Robinson will lead daily complimentary Zumba and Pilates classes for guests of all activity levels. After each energizing session will be a “healthy eating” break featuring an assortment of exotic fruits and nutritious snacks.  In addition, travel, food and spa editor and author Babbie De Derian will share highlights of her new book Outsmart Mother Nature, and teach guests what it takes to be “Fabulous at Every Age…Through a Lifetime of Changes.”

Each morning at 9 a.m., Robinson, an Aerobics and Fitness Association of America instructor based in New York City, will teach a beachfront Pilates class, designed to increase the strength, flexibility and control of the body.  A full body workout, Pilates is a conditioning routine that helps to not only build flexibility, but also strength, endurance, and coordination in the legs, abdominals, arms and back.

At 11 a.m., De Derian will share her pampered life and a wealth of anti-aging beauty, health and nutrition secrets, tips and philosophies that she has gathered from ancient cultures and 450 spas around the world.  Guests will learn how to make seasonal changes in their exercise routine, diet and appearance to maximize their potential, plus how to turn a bath into an at-home spa sanctuary using herbs and leftover fruits and vegetables for scrubs and facials.  De Derian’s interactive mini workshops will bring guests’ goals into focus and build age-defying reserves that will last a lifetime.

Every afternoon at 4 p.m., Robinson will get guests on their feet for some Latin-inspired dance fitness fun. Robinson calls her high-energy, aerobic classes “parties,” as the easy to follow, calorie burning Zumba program features upbeat music and choreography incorporating hip-hop, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo, martial arts and some Bollywood and belly dance moves.

Set on the longest stretch of private, white sand beach along Jamaica’s North Shore, Breezes Runaway Bay boasts myriad land and water activities, in addition to the week’s special wellness program.  Along with scuba diving, tennis classes, windsurfing and kayaking, guests can enjoy leisurely use of three freshwater pools, Jacuzzis, a game room, gym and more. The resort is also home to Jamaica’s first golf school, with PGA and CPGA certified instructors at its 18-hole, 72-par course.

After a good workout there’s nothing better than some self-pampering at the on-site à la carte Blue Mahoe Spa, which features all natural plant and sea products. Here, a full menu of treatments from manicures and pedicures to massages and body wraps are designed to maintain a balance with nature and enhance the mind, body and spirit connection.

Breezes Resorts’ “Super-Inclusive” concept offers a great vacation value.   A single payment covers accommodations; all meals and multiple dining options including Japanese, Italian and authentic regional cuisine; unlimited premium brand drinks; myriad land and water sports including equipment, instruction and green fees; entertainment; weddings; recreational activities; and hotel taxes.  Tipping is not allowed.
