Calistoga’s Dr. Wilkinson’s Hot Springs Resort Introduces Winter Special Through February of 2011
Dr. Wilkinson’s Hot Spring’s Resort now offers overnight lodging in a spacious king or double queen room with a complimentary mud bath routine, which includes a volcanic ash mud bath, aromatherapy whirlpool mineral bath, mineral steam room and blanket wrap (approximately 1.5 hours), plus use of three mineral pools at $79.50 per person; $94.50 per person on Saturday nights.
The resort’s outdoor pools ~ recently renewed and sparkling ~ are maintained at 80 degrees and 90 degrees, and the 102 degree indoor pool, a gigantic hot tub, is perfect for a soaking and swimming the year round.) The Winter Special also includes restaurant and winery discount coupons.
A stay at Dr. Wilkinson’s is an affordable way to slow down and de-stress while steeping in naturally hot mineral water and mud, according to Mark Wilkinson, co-owner with his sister Carolynne of Dr. Wilkinson’s.
“Taking care of oneself promotes good health and well being,” he says. “The last couple of years have been financially stressful for many people. Taking time out with our affordable Winter Special will energize you, help you de-stress, and warm you up!”
Dr. Wilkinson’s is located on Calistoga’s four block historic downtown. An abundance of unique shopping and dining opportunities are just steps away. Walk to restaurants and wine tasting bars, shops, galleries and bookstores during your winter getaway.
Entering its 59th year, Dr. Wilkinson’s Hot Springs Resort is a wine country landmark, one of Calistoga’s oldest spas, and the only local facility that still operates under founding family ownership. Today the resort’s original neon sign, erected in 1952, still glows outside Dr. Wilkinson’s Hot Springs Resort, an ongoing tribute to the “Dean of Calistoga’s Spas.”
The “mud bath movement”, made famous by the late Dr. John Wilkinson more than one half century ago, has never been more popular than it is today.
