DIY Spa: Make a Natural Beauty Mask for your Legs
Glam Your Gams with a Natural Moisturizing Mask from the Spa at Viceroy Riviera Maya
Summer is the time for great-looking legs, but for a real “wow” look, you need more than a daily workout and a tan. You need smooth, silky skin, and that can be a challenge as your legs are’t moisturized as often or as effectively as arms and hands. Ankles and knees can be especially challenging.
Spa Director Cinthya Alva at Viceroy Riviera Maya’s Wayak Spa offers the following “home remedy,” an easy-to-make natural beauty recipe to counter dry skin and prepare legs for a radiant tan:
1 tablespoon almond or avocado oil
1 tablespoon Shea oil
1 tablespoon honey
3 drops of peppermint oil
4 tablespoons neutral unscented body lotion
To prepare your mask:
Crush the banana with a fork until well mashed. Place in a bowl, add remaining ingredients and stir until well blended.
In the shower with the water off, apply the mixture to your legs, covering everything from ankles to knees. Keep your legs raised for 10 minutes. Then rinse with warm water.
Tip to improve circulation in your legs:
The experts at Viceroy Riviera Maya’s Wayak Spa advise you to sit back on the bed face up and stretch your legs, resting your ankles on the wall or at the bedside. This can also be done on the floor.
Now, head to the beach and don’t bury your legs in the sand!
