Qi Gong (Pronounced Chi-Gong)
Qi Gong is a health practice that began in China over 4,000 years ago. It incorporates breath with gentle rhythmic movement which is said to induce a meditative state for the practitioner. In Taoist traditions the practice of Qi Gong is known to increase longevity and regain vitality. In 2013 a team of researchers at MD Anderson Cancer Center concluded that a regular Qi Gong practice eased depression and reduced fatigue in women undergoing radiation treatment for breast cancer. Qi Gong has also been shown to enhance immune function and reduce anxiety. 
$250 per 60 minute session. For group of 25 guests and under*

Yoga

Yoga is a mind-body practice that combines stretching exercises, controlled breathing and relaxation. Yoga can help reduce stress and bring back serenity. Includes infused water station. $250 per 60 minute session. Includes large towels for up to 25 guests. For group of 25 guests and under*

Guided Meditation

This practice of meditation requires an individual to follow verbal instructions that teach the individual how to relax the entire body, clear the mind, concentrate on breathing, and focus one’s awareness and attention. $250 per 15 minute session. For group of 25 guests and under*

Bocce Ball

Perfect for team building… host a self-paced Lawn Bocce tournament!
F&B minimums apply for event space utilized. $35 per Bocce Ball Set (one set allows 2 – 8 people to play).

Hiking

Enjoy a guided group hike at one of California’s last undeveloped coastal areas. Famous scenic trails and bluffs have spectacular views of the ocean. All of the hikes below will provide a great way to get out and enjoy our southern California beauty. All hikes are approximately 60 minutes, roundtrip.

Torrey Pines State Park (easy to moderate). Transportation suggested. 

$250 per guide. One guide required per 25 guests.

COOKING

Attendees will unwind and feel accomplished as they work in small groups to create a delectable dish. Together, they will learn new cooking skills and most likely a little bit about each other!

Sushi Making Challenge

This culinary masterpiece offers the best of Estancia La Jolla. Who: The group will be divided into innovation teams.

What: The challenge is to create the evening’s appetizers or portions of dinner.
How: A variety of basic Sushi items and a variety of additional (exotic) options will be placed on a center station from which teams may select.
The Challenge: There will also be five (5) specialty items which teams must incorporate into their dish. Get creative! Remember the goal is inspiration, but taste is equally important. Each team will submit their dish to a panel of elite judges at the conclusion of the challenge.
When: Teams will be given one (1) hour to develop and execute their dish.
Why: The winning team gets VIP seating at the next group event which comes complete with massage therapists to reward them for a job well done. Time: 1 1⁄2 – 2 hours.
Details: Estancia recommends a theme for the challenge, if the group does not have a theme, consider Estancia La Jolla’s favorite- ‘Renew and Inspire’. The event will be customized based on desired theme.
Price: $75 per guest. Minimum of 20 guests.

Add Sake Tasting  $25 per guest
Group will be served 4 variations of Sake including warm and chilled varieties. The group will be led in an instructional tasting to discover the variations, history, and production process of Sake.

Salsa Making Challenge

Team building with a SoCal flavor!
Who: In this culinary team building activity, the group will be divided into small teams. Each team will be challenged 
with creating the best tasting salsa from scratch.

What: Teams decide which ingredients to use and what preparation techniques will be used in creating their culinary masterpiece.

How: Teams will have their own designated table with a pot, spoons, knives, cutting boards, aprons, and utensils. In the center of the room will be a spice table and vegetable marketplace.
The Challenge: Here is where the challenge gets spicy! Teams work against the clock to create their best salsa, and the finished product must then be marketed to the rest of the crowd. Teams will create a commercial spot, as well as promotional aprons which showcase their salsa “brand”. To top it off- teams will construct a vegetable car to be raced in the unique Salsa Derby!
When: Teams will be given one (1) hour to develop and execute their recipe!
Why: Teams work together to win over the taste buds of the judges. Prizes will be awarded on creativity, presentation and taste. Time: 1 1⁄2 – 2 hours.
Price: $75 per guest. Minimum of 20 guests.

Add Margaritas $25 per guest
For extra pep at the event, you can add a Margarita Challenge. Along with making the best salsa, teams will whip up a tasty batch of Margaritas. 

 
TASTINGS

Build team spirit and morale while learning about whiskey, tequila, wine, or beer in a fun and educational environment. Estancia’s team will lead the group through a tasting experience during which attendees will explore the diversity of the selected beverage, regional, cultural, and processing differences between them.

Mixology Boot Camp

Clients may choose two (2) types of liquor (Vodka, Whiskey, Gin, Tequila) for the lesson. The boot camp begins with Estancia’s Mixology Professional leading the group in a tasting of the two liquors, they will educate the group about the history, style, and common serving practices. The group will then learn about the art of making cocktails, including an overview of equipment and proper mixing techniques. Each guest will have the opportunity to measure, pour, shake, and stir two specialty cocktails before sampling their successful creations.

$75 per guest. Minimum of 25 guests. Approximately 60-90 minutes

Whiskey 101
American, Canadian, Irish, and Scotch

Explore the 4 varieties of whiskey. Discuss flavor profiles, distilling processes and differences including barrel aging and varieties.

$80 per guest. Minimum of 10 guests. Approximately 60-90 minutes.

Tequila 101
Silver, Anejo, Reposado, 
Estancia’s Exclusive Double Barrel Reposado Herradura
Explore 4 varieties of tequila and discuss flavor profiles and differences as well as distilling techniques and process of making Tequila. The event will require approximately 60-90 minutes to complete.

$75 per guest. Minimum of 10 guests. Approximately 60-90 minutes.

Wine 101

Explore 5 varietals of wine – we are happy to customize wine selections based on group preferences and interests. Explore the diversity of varietals and winemaking styles of various viticultural areas in this presentation. Participants will be guided on a progressive tasting of four wines selected. A narrative account of regional differences in style, winemaking techniques, microclimates and historical perspective will be offered.

$75 per guest. Minimum of 10 guests. Approximately 60-90 minutes.

Beer 101
Ale Beer vs Lager Beer
Explore the history and variety of both types of beer including flavor profiles and major differences. Learn about the process of brewing beer, from fermentation to temperature. A range of beers will be tasted, including local craft beers and national brands.

$75 per guest. Minimum of 10 guests. Approximately 60-90 minutes.
