Marine-Based Beauty Line from France will Further Enhance the Resort’s Wellness Centre, Following a $20 Million Property-Wide Renovation

The BodyHoliday, St. Lucia’s premiere resort for health and well-being, has announced a new partnership with THALGO, a high-end marine-based skincare and beauty line based in the South of France.  The partnership commenced with the re-opening of The BodyHoliday on October 3rd, following a $20 million renovation. This is THALGO’s first partnership in St. Lucia––representing a new and exclusive option for high-end spa services on the island.

THALGO products feature a medically patented micronized algae, which is used in thalassotherapy and detoxifying programs at spas and resorts across the globe.  Thalassotherapy, derived from the Greek word Thalassa (meaning “sea”), is based on the principle of treating the body with sea water and substances derived from the ocean––including seaweed, marine mud, sand and sea-spray.  THALGO has created a thoroughly comprehensive set of spa services for The BodyHoliday, including treatment design, operational support, therapist training and product supply.

Two of the new treatments,Sea and Senses and Ocean Memory, Marine Sensation Spa Ritualare exclusive to The BodyHoliday.

The BodyHoliday embodies the concept of a vacation for the body––offering relaxation, restorative beauty, exercise and diet.  The new range of THALGO treatments complements the wellness centre’s treatment techniques and approach to wellness, bringing a new level of luxury to this award-winning resort.  While the wellness centre pampers with a variety of techniques, special consideration has been given to the healing ingredients of the sea.

The new signature facial, Sea and Senses (75 minutes, $150), is inspired by the rejuvenating properties of the algae plant. The facial begins with the application of a warm algae mask infused with essential oils of chamomile and lavender.  The therapist massages the face, back and feet using hot and cold marine stones; the movement and rhythm of the stones induce deep relaxation.

Additional facial treatments include a Cool Marine Facial, Deluxe Collagen Velvet Facial, and a Gentle Desensitizing Facial for Men.

The Ocean Memory, Marine Sensation Spa Ritual (120 minutes, $200), the wellness centre’s new signature body treatment, is a three-step marine-based spa journey consisting of an Ocean Memory Scrub, Aquatic Massage and Tingling Algae Mousse.  The treatment utilizes the impressive healing power of the sea to rejuvenate the skin and invigorate the senses.  The therapist begins by massaging the skin with an algae-based salt scrub, followed by a gentle massage.  The treatment concludes with the application of the Tingling Algae Mousse, leaving the body energized and revitalized.

Additional body treatment options include an Oceanic Sea Sand Glow, Marine Algae Body Wrap, Thalgomince Body Wrap, and Frigi-Thalgo “Cold Marine” Body Wrap.

The BodyHoliday’s extensive makeover will reveal significant updates to the resort’s public spaces and dining venues, a new infinity-edge swimming pool and boardwalk, and a new Penthouse Suite with its own Hammam spa.  A highlight of the renovation is the all-new entrance to the property’s wellness centre, which has been transformed into a magnificent structure with Jerusalem stone and mosaics.

A new cool, contemporary, state-of-the art feel will be the signature and it will boast its own reception area and four treatment rooms, one with a private shower. A couple’s treatment room was fashioned with mahogany cabinetry, natural stone finishes and special seating area for foot rituals; the wet area with a shower-for-two rain-head and large soaking tub is accented in curved, glass mosaic surround.

Guests will now be able to purchase their favorite THALGO products in a new retail area.
