Program to Benefit Both People and Pets
The SPCA of Westchester, based in Briarcliff Manor, New York, and Le Petite Spa, based in Croton-on-Hudson, are teaming up to present “Pampering for Paws,” an exciting new program that will benefit both humans and animals.
The premise is simple. Just visit either the SPCA’s or Le Petite Spa’s website , and look for the “Pampering for Paws” coupon offering $10 off any spa service at Le Petite Spa. Print out the coupon and bring it to the spa when you make your appointment. For each coupon redeemed, Le Petite Spa will also donate $10 to the SPCA of Westchester.
“I have been an animal lover since as long as I can remember, and I have adopted two cats in the past from the SPCA of Westchester,” said Prenon. “Over the years, I’ve also done some volunteer work for the SPCA because it’s such a wonderful organization that is dedicated to providing the best care for temporarily homeless pets. I’m happy to do all that I can to support them.”
“The SPCA of Westchester is so grateful to Mary Prenon and Le Petite Spa’s ‘Pampering for Paws’ program,” said Shannon Laukhuf, SPCA’s executive director. “This is a wonderful example of the kind of community support that allows us to continue our life- saving mission on behalf of abused and abandoned animals in Westchester County.”
The SPCA of Westchester was founded in 1883 by Ossining resident Mary Dusenberry after witnessing horses being beaten as they to delivered heavy loads of coal. Together with caring friends, she obtained land to build the Society’s first home and established a fund to prevent cruelty to animals. Today, the SPCA is still located on the same spot.
The SPCA of Westchester is the only humane society in Westchester County empowered to enforce laws relating to animal cruelty. Despite this, the SPCA gets no federal, state, or county funds and relies solely on donations.
