Yoga in the Dolomites

For yoga devotees, the world is their oyster as more and more glamorous destinations offer yoga retreats that please all the senses as well as the spirit.

Here’s a 7 day / 6 night Dolomites Yoga Retreat with yoga master Egon Castlunger that can be arranged for the first time this year through Italy’s active travel leader, Dolomite Mountains srl.

Guests indulge twice daily in yoga on self-guided hikes by a landscape of pillars and pinnacles, returning afternoons to five-star accommodations at the most luxurious hotel in these mountains, the Relais & Châteaux Hotel & Spa Rosa Alpina in Alta Badia.

The program is offered for a minimum of six people at 2650 euros per person. Included are twice-daily yoga instruction, trip briefing, maps of the area, double room accommodations, some meals, passes for mountain lifts, and medical and evacuation insurance. A single supplement is available upon request. For details visit the website.

This program is available as a custom departure operated on dates of a guest’schoosing or as a group departure on pre-set dates.

“We designed this new itinerary based on requests from our past clients. Many of them practice yoga at home and wanted to practice yoga in the majestic setting of the Dolomites with a great instructor,” says Agustina Lagos-Marmol, founderof Dolomite Mountains srl.

Instructor Egon Castlunger is a certified Hatha Yoga teacher, Zen Shiatsu practitioner, Heilpraktiker, and hiking guide. His Yoga teaching is a contemporary style, based on Hatha Yoga (Asanas, Pranayama, Meditation), Vinyasa flow elements and Yin Yoga, with the background knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine and Zen Shiatsu. He believes Yoga provides tools to harmonize our being at all levels of our existence: physical, mental, social and spiritual, and that the result is balance, strength, opening, inner peace, all leading to a happy and fulfilled life.
